RFID

RFID (Radio-frequency identification) is a remote radio frequency identification technology that uses radio waves to transfer data from an electronic tag, called an RFID tag or label. A reader is used to identify the tag. This system enables reading from a distance of several dozen centimiters to several meters from the ready antenna at the same time as many labels. The basic configuration of the RFID system consists of:

  • the reader system, which creates a reader with a transmitter, the receiver, and the decoder, and a transmitting-receiving antenna
  • an array of labels known as transponders or tags consisting of an electronic circuit and an antenna.

The operation of the system is simple – the reader uses an antenna to receive, filter, and decode the information contained in the chip attached to the product and then transfer it to a database managed by RFID software for further processing.

RFID systems are used in the trade to track the flow of goods from the manufacturer to the customer, in the logistics, in the management of the returnable packing, in industry, in production, and for the identification of people and to control and limit access to data.

Our company recommends the use of the RFID system in the process of the inventory of the stocks of warehouses, shops, the verification of the placement of the goods on the shelves, and the order picking.

By using the RFID tags and antennas located near the entrances (the so-called gates), warehouse employees are able to extremally accurately control the amount and type of goods issued, which facilitates its loading and unloading.

The RFID system facilitates the search for objects, it is used even in hard-to-reach places where the label is not directly visible.

Thanks to the use of the RFID tags, we can permanently mark the company’s assets and, if necessary, update the data in the tag without having to replace the label. The use of RFID allows you to significantly save the time spent on inventory taking.
